St. Peter's on view:  Yes, the scaffolding that covered the front of St. Peterís Church in the Vatican for the past two years is finally coming down.  In fact, if the Fabbrica di SanPietro kept to their schedule, which called for the disrobing to be completed on September 18, it should all be gone by the time you read this. Some of us havenít seen the façade since arriving in Rome, and nobody alive had seen it clean and in all of itís glory.  Pope John Paul II will inaugurate the freshly scrubbed facade Sept. 30, presenting the face that St. Peter's will show the world during the Roman Catholic Church's Holy Year celebrations for the new millennium.
