Roman History Made Easy:Roman history can be daunting -- they just kept making more of it. The Punic wars, the transition from the Republic to the Empire and the early Empire period (the Julio-Claudian Emperors -- Julius Caesar through Nero) are among the most complex periods of Roman history, and, unfortunately, most Roman historians seem to revel in the complexity.
