IX -- Roman Daily Life

Duration: "Ancient Rome" lasted from Rome's founding to Constantine's withdrawal: from 753 BC to 312 AD -- 1064 years

And size also does count: "Rome", at its greatest extent, ran from the Atlantic to the Euphrates and from Trajan's Wall to the cataract of the Nile

So "daily life" in "Rome" is time and place dependent

We will concentrate on the city of Rome and pick up aspects of daily life as they developed (mostly in the Republic, but with some reference to Etruscan and Latin precursors) and then look at how they changed -- often how they were liberalized -- in the Empire.

As usual, there are many more links to follow -- the Google Search Engine is still best: http://www.google.com/ and don't forget to try the "images" section.
Caveat Emptor: some Internet searches, for example "Roman slavery" will pull up all kinds of perverted links.
